Happy Saturday everyone!
Today I wanted to dive into a classic look — dressing in all black! Sometimes I am in the mood for an all black outfit because, let’s face it, it’s super easy to do…or is it?
Dressing in all black can be a challenge. Do the blacks match? Can you spot lint (and cat hair for me) all day long? Will it look like all one piece? These are all super valid questions considering a look that should be pretty easy.
Going to work in New York every day, you’ll see all black outfits left and right — it’s the non official uniform for everyone in the city. If I see that many people wearing this look daily, it’s gotta be easy to recreate, right?
For my all-black look at work this past week, I paired flare black work textured pants, a ribbed mock neck sweater, my go-to Zara jean jacket and my Steve Madden mules. So, how did I do it?
The ruffle at the bottom of my flare pants helped them stand out in a non-color way. The ribbed texture of my sweater helped it look like my outfit was not all one piece. My black denim jacket really broke up the outfit by being distressed, oversized and a little worn in. The black mules tied it all together with a gold chain across the top of them, coinciding with my gold chain!
I am really looking forward to exploring monochromatic looks, so an all-black outfit feels like an okay place to start. Do you sport all black? Have you tried a monochromatic look? Let me know in the comments OR on my Instagram post @rachelbimonte! Looking forward to hearing from you!
